I was born and grew up on the Hebridean island of Lewis, Scotland. On leaving school I attended the Glasgow School of Art for a year, but specialisation in art turned out to be premature for me at that point in life. I went on to complete a degree in an academic subject and did not do much art for about 15 years. During that time I worked in education, eventually finding a way back to visual creativity through working on community projects and helping young people to make mosaics.

In the last decade I have returned to developing an individual art practice. I attended various courses in London to learn the skills I needed- at Camberwell College, the Mary Ward Centre and the Essential School of Painting where I studied under several professional and well known artists. Eventually I got my own studio in Deptford and I exhibited with the South London Women Artists group among others. I have exhibited in England and Scotland and my work has been bought by collectors in the U.K. and beyond.

I now live and work in the beautiful city of Bath, Somerset.
